Appointment Fees

Fees are based on the duration of the appointment, the clinical services required, and your individual clinical needs.

The services provided during your appointment will depend on the findings of your assessment. Where additional treatment, monitoring or review is required, a follow-up appointment may be recommended.

A reduced fee may apply to return appointments, depending on the treatment provided and the individual clinical circumstances.

Pensioner & Concession Card Discount

A $20 discount is available to Pensioner and Concession Card holders and will be applied at the time of payment on the day of the appointment.

Ear Wax Removal

Ear wax removal (cerumen management) may be performed using appropriate manual techniques, including microsuction and/or curettage, depending on the clinical findings and suitability of the procedure.

Please note that the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) does not permit audiologists to bulk bill ear wax removal (ear toileting) services.

If No Ear Wax Is Found

If no ear wax is present and ear wax removal is therefore not required, a 50% discount will apply to the ear wax removal appointment fee.

Residential Aged Care & Nursing Home Visits

Additional charges may apply for visits to residential aged care facilities and nursing homes.

If no ear wax is present and ear wax removal is not required, a 50% discount will apply to the ear wax removal appointment fee.

Any applicable travel, facility or additional service charges will be discussed with the facility, resident or representative where appropriate prior to treatment.

Informed Consent for Ear Wax Removal

Before ear wax removal is undertaken, you will be provided with information about the proposed procedure and its potential benefits, risks and alternatives.

I acknowledge that I have been provided with information regarding the proposed procedure of ear wax removal (cerumen management), which may be performed using manual techniques including microsuction and/or curettage.

I understand the purpose, nature and expected benefits of the procedure and have had the opportunity to ask questions and receive satisfactory answers.

I understand that, although every reasonable care and skill will be exercised, ear wax removal carries potential risks and complications, including but not limited to:

  • Discomfort or irritation of the ear canal

  • Minor bleeding

  • Infection

  • Temporary dizziness or vertigo

  • Tinnitus or temporary changes in tinnitus

  • Perforation of the eardrum (tympanic membrane)

  • Temporary hearing changes

  • Rarely, more significant or permanent hearing changes

I understand that no guarantee has been made regarding the outcome of the procedure.

I confirm that I have disclosed relevant medical history, including previous ear conditions, ear surgery, eardrum perforations, infections, symptoms or other information that may affect the safety or suitability of treatment.

I understand that the procedure will be performed by a qualified healthcare professional acting within their scope of practice.

I understand that I may withdraw or withhold my consent at any time before or during the procedure, without affecting my future care.

By proceeding with treatment, I confirm that I have read and understood the above information and consent to ear wax removal.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We understand that circumstances can change and are happy to accommodate cancellations or appointment changes wherever possible.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 3 hours' notice before your scheduled appointment time.

Providing notice allows us to offer the appointment to another client who may be waiting for an available booking.

If you do not attend your appointment and do not contact us beforehand, a $50 no-show fee may apply.

Where the $50 no-show fee has been paid, the amount will be credited towards your next appointment and deducted from the total appointment fee.

We appreciate your consideration and understanding, particularly as appointment times are limited and other clients may be waiting for an earlier booking.
