Why Microsuction?
Experiencing blocked ears, itchiness, muffled hearing, tinnitus, dizziness, or whistling hearing aids?
Ear wax provides natural protection, but when it builds up, microsuction offers fast, safe relief—the safest and most effective method available today. Unlike traditional syringing, that is a forceful water-flush technique, microsuction uses a small medical-grade suction device under magnified binocular vision to gently remove softened wax and debris.
We deliver this expert care without the need for GP referrals.
BENEFITS OF MICROSUCTION:
Water‑free and mess‑free
Safe with ear infections, perforated eardrums, water-intolerant ears and hearing aids users
Precise and gentle — ideal for sensitive ears
Suitable for children (4+) and adults
Immediate relief
recommended as gold standard wax removal process by ENT specialists
Services we offer
Our Safest Choice for Clear Ears
Microsuction is the gold standard: safe and effective for the removal of ear wax. As your experienced clinician, I'll use this gentle, precise method tailored just for you, so it's quick, comfortable, and hassle-free.
What Happens During Your Visit
We review your history of ear health and discuss any conditions related to your ears
We start with a throughout examination inside your ear canal using a video otoscope, speculum and light
If required, softening agents are applied to facilitate easier wax removal
Using a magnified view, we gently suction away wax, debris, and dead skin
a final video ear canal examination to show clear and healthy state of your ear canal and eardrum
You'll walk out feeling light, refreshed, and hearing clearly!
Your Personal Aftercare Plan
We provide tailored advice to help you maintain healthy ears, including practical tips, educational resources, and a personalised home care plan. We're here for any follow-up appointments or future visits as needed.
Our microsuction technique is the gold standard, but depending on your ear wax type and condition, we may also use precise manual tools like Lighted Curettes, Jobson Horne instruments, or Forceps for safe, complete removal.
How it works:
We first examine your ear canal with a video otoscope or magnification to assess the wax buildup. Microsuction gently suctions most wax under direct vision, but if hard, flaky, or impacted pieces remain near the eardrum:
Lighted Curettes scoop out stubborn fragments with a tiny, rounded spoon-like tip.
Jobson Horne instruments probe and lift wax using fine, angled picks.
Forceps grasp and extract small, solid pieces with delicate micro-grips.
All under bright LED light and magnification for ultimate precision and safety, no discomfort, no residue.
While microsuction is our primary method for earwax removal, in certain cases where the wax is dry, flaky, or resistant to suction, we may use gentle saline irrigation.
We apply controlled, low-pressure saline solution to help loosen and lift wax from the ear canal or eardrum surface. This technique is performed only after thorough assessment to ensure it is suitable, safe, and comfortable for the individual.
It's not suitable for perforated eardrums, active infections, recent middle ear issues, discharge, pain, or prior complications, safety first, with micro suction as the alternative.
About
With 17 years’ experience in the hearing health industry, I’m Krisztina Matrof‑Hudecz, a Hearing Rehabilitation Audiologist, accredited member of the Australian Collage of Audiology.
My family and I have lived and worked in the South West for the past 12 years, where I’ve provided diagnostic hearing assessments, hearing aid consultations, adult hearing rehabilitation, tinnitus counselling and custom earplug fittings in clinics, homes and aged‑care facilities.
Many locals already know me from years of providing high‑quality hearing care in the region. I’m proud to now offer dedicated ear wax removal services to the South West WA community – with professional care you can trust and a friendly, down‑to‑earth approach that helps you feel at ease.
I hold a Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology from De Montfort University and have completed the Professional Ear Care course at Aston University in the UK. This means I’m trained in the safest, most effective wax removal methods, so you can feel confident that your ears are in expert hands.
Appointments are gentle, pain‑free and efficient – wax is usually removed from both ears in around 25-30 minutes, followed by clear, practical aftercare advice tailored to you. I offer flexible mobile visits in GP surgeries, retirement villages, nursing homes and pharmacies across the South West, with pensioner and concession discounts available and no GP referral required.
